“little notes” is my way of giving paid subscribers more in the way of things I’ve come across recently. Links, scraps, or half-formed thoughts that have stayed with me. It’s a quiet place of joy. If you can’t afford a subscription, don’t worry! The post will become available to all subscribers after a few days.
Here’s what I have for you this week.
I’ll see you in 20 years, reading about Margiela and Agnes Martin paintings.
Video – Porsche commercial (link)
I was looking through some old commercials I saved and rewatched this one for the Porsche 911 Carrera. I love the simplicity of it and how it cleverly taps into the universality of childlike wonder while asserting who Porsche cars are for.
Book Recommendations – Readings on Maison Margiela
Glenn Martens first collection for Margiela will be out in July. I know next to nothing about Margiela but I’m curious. Someone kindly put together a list of reads on the fashion house so I’ll probably end up going through some of these in anticipation.
Notes – Agnes Martin
I came across this snippet by Lauren in my feed and I found myself really enjoying the calmness of Agnes Martin’s paintings. They’re an invitation for contemplation. The lines are clean but feel human, while the colors are subdued and complementary. I might look into more of her work.
That’s all for today. Thanks for reading and supporting this newsletter. Let me know if any piece of it stood out to you more than the rest. See you next week!
Cheers,
EK
